1. Reviews have started to come in and word has it that the shows are very, very good. $150 good? Not sure that any band is worth that. Except for the 3+ hours of a Rush show.

3. I guess you haven't even seen Roth or Eddie in a few years. They're getting rave reviews everywhere and the shows are great and sold out. You sound like a bitter Hagar fan who's mad because no one cares about him any more. Stay home, chump, and miss the show of the decade.

4. Maybe you should check out some of the youtube videos from the first 3 shows and see if you still have the same opinion. It is obvious to me you have no clue what they are actually bringing to the stage.

5. Dude, prepare to eat crow. I was at the Charlotte show and Van Halen was stellar. 2 hours and 10 minutes of bombastic rock-n-roll. Hardly any blathering between songs, stripped down production to make you focus on the music, and fantastic video screen if you had so so seats. Absolutely the best I've heard Dave sing ever (honestly, he has sucked in past years)he was spot on, Edward killing it on guitar as always, Alex was very solid, and Wolfgang was a massive surprise, he held the low end incredibly tight with Alex and Ed and sang his brains out. Any doubters, I call Fair Warning! Go see for yourself.

I saw the show in Philly on Monday October 1st, 2007. I also saw them in Philly their first time around back in 1980. That concert was the most memorable I had ever seen. In no way did I expect this one to be as good, but it came close (for different reasons).

Eddie moved around the stage much like he did back then, (you could never tell anything was ever wrong with his hip) his guitar playing was just as good, but a little different, not as raw. Lots of fills (maybe too many). I did not like the fact that the keyboards were tracked. Eddie could have played both the guitar and keyboard alternately and it would have sounded just as good. They don't overlap much in the recorded versions so it shouldn't be a problem. Bring out the keyboards or drop the songs. Jump wasn't that great of a song anyway, obviously written for the pop song lovers. It's certainly not on the level of Aint Talkin Bout Love, or Mean Street, or Atomic Punk.

David could never accomplish the same stage gymnastics he did back then nor could he ever hit the same high notes, but he was good, very good.
The bass was never a big part of their music. Just a solid foundation. I would have liked Michael there instead of Wolfgang but the youngster did a better than adequate job on the 4 string and vocals. I was pleasantly surprised. Alex was also very solid, as usual. His drum solo showed he still had it.

Hearing all their early songs played live again, better than anyone else could play them, was well worth the price of the ticket. If you are a VH fan, and I am, that is the reason this show was so good. For me, its not reliving anything, it's merely hearing great songs played by talented muscians. $175(the price of about 4 tanks of gas)is not too much to pay for a little slice of Rock n Roll history. If you seats suck, bring the binoculars and watch the huge screen.

If you are not a VH fan, you could never appreciate what is taking place on this tour. Obviously, you are not a fan.

10. Longtime VH fan here. The show kicked some major ass. Dave still got it; Wolfie has a bright future ahead of him; Eddie and Alex played like it was the 80's. WELL worth the $$ and the trip to Philly. Nobody was trying to recreate or recapture anything, they were just on stage doing what they do best: playin' rock-n-roll. Newsflash: ALL GOOD BANDS ARE OLD. I haven't heard these songs played LIVE in 23 years so if you don't get to hear it now, you missed out! What more is there to say??
